Abhyanga is the traditional ayurvedic massage. Medicinal ayurvedic oil are generally chosen according to one’s dosha for performing abhyanga oil massage. Shiro abhyanga– Indian head massage involves work not only on the head but on the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face too. Head massage does not only affect the immediate areas of massage, but also a healing ,rejuvenating and thoroughly stimulating experience. Releasing the mental and emotional stress immediately.
In addition, the head massage improves the supply of glucose and blood to the brain, dissipates the toxins and opens the channels. The head massage nourishes and strengthens all the body openings especially the nose, eyes, ears, mouth and the top of the head. Udwarthanam – Dry massage with Herbal powder ,A stimulating massage using dry powders and not oil. The therapist rub dry herbal powders, chosen according to one’s dosha, into the skin in the opposite direction to hair growth with strong repeating movements. The friction of the powder during massage creates body heat that increases circulation, breaks down cellulite, firms muscle tone and reduces fat by improving the metabolism of the muscles. Dry powder massage helps in weight loss, as it reduces cholesterol levels and adipose tissue and promotes better digestion. It also removes toxins and exfoliates the skin leaving skin tingling, soothing and soft. Most ayurvedic massages tend to use long, flowing strokes that go away from the heart and from bottom to top, but Udwarthanam employs short, sharp superficial rubs that go in the opposite direction, away from the heart towards the extremities and from top of the body downwards. This is the opposite of the dosha flow.

Kativasthi – ayurvedic treatment for lower back pain, Kati means waist or lower back area of the body and vasti means holding the medicinal preparation of oil on the site of ailment. So kativasti involves retention of the warm oil on the lower back or other pans of the spine for a particular time period.
Kati vasti treatment helps in strengthening the muscles especially those in the low back region. It helps in alleviating neuronal complaints, lumbago, and sciatica. This treatment is effective in muscular spasm and inflammation in the lower back region.
Kizhi- Hot herbal pouch ,The hot herbal pouch or Kizhi (bundle) therapy, the herbal poultice is a time honoured tradition of healing with heat. With goodness, tie the warm pouches of herbs, plants, roots and apply to sore, sprain and sad bodies. classification as a Swedana (Sanskrit for sweat therapy) in the Vedic texts, the herbal poultice is both detoxifying and healing.
The Therapist ties the special selection of ingredients in natural cloth, steam for a few minutes. Then, dip in medicated herbal oil and apply to the body of the patient. On application, the heat induces sweating,thereby helping to bring toxins to the surface of skin; then, once the pores are open, skin absorbs the properties of the herbs for healing. Janu Basthi-Knee Joint Enema, Retaining the warm medicated Oil over the knee joint for a certain period is known by the name Janu Basti in Ayurveda.The Oils used for this treatment are decided according to type Of injury or pain and imbalance of Ayurvedic energy (Vata,Pitta or Kapha).Janu Basti is very famous therapy of ayurveda and suggested in condition like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, sports injuries and other painful conditions of the knee. Usually Janu Basti is followed by hot steam fomentation therapy I.e sprayed on the knee joints. Nadl Swedana for 15 minutes in which a jet of steam rich in herbs .This way effect of the Janu Basti is enhanced and also helps the oil to deepen into the muscle tissues to help treat the root cause of the pain. This helps to soften the stiff ligaments & tendon, to accelerate the repair of damaged tissue and eases the movements at the knee joints
Greeva Basti ,Quite just like the Kati Basti, Griva Basti is the procedure of applying heat to the cervical area by maintaining warm treated oil within a specially established frame on this place.
This Basti is indicated for the one who is experiencing discomfort and painful conditions of the cervical area like, cervical spondylitis, spondylolisthesis, disc prolapse, ankylosing_spondylitis, neck arthritis etc.he prescription of herbal oil for the therapy is just like the Kati Basti as well.To increase the effect of the Griva Basti, it is followed by Nadi Swedana for 15 minutes, which apply a jet of herbalised vapor to the cervical place and helps to take the oil further into the muscular cells.
Nasya (Inhalation ) Therapy,Herbal Oils, smoke and herbs are administered via the nostrils in order to purify the head and neck region by stimulating the secretion Of mucus and thereby dissolving and loosening mucus lodged in the nasal and sinus passages. Nasya as mentioned in ayurveda texts is beneficial treatment to reduces jaw and neck stress and strain and balances, nourishes the brain and lungs, calms yet focuses the mind, and reduces mucus and congestion. Nasya aims to heal the illnesses related to the throat, neck and head such as sinus congestion, ear problems, allergic rhinitis, migraines, common cold, sinusitis, and allergies. It helps to regenerate the muscles, nerves and blood supply in this region and improves concentration and memory. A vigorous head massage, herb steam inhalation with warm towels are applied to the head and face prior to this treatment.It is often given before or after the main detox therapy and is usually administered in the morning (kapha time) as this is when kapha-related impurities (mucus) are naturally moved from the deeper tissues and organs to the stomach and sinuses.

Mukha Lepam (Ayurvedic Facial) ,Mukha lepam is a traditional Ayurvedic beauty treatment that involves the application of a herbal paste or mask to the face. The term “mukha” refers to the face, and “lepam” means an application of a paste or lotion.The ingredients used in the mukha lepam may vary depending on the individual’s skin type and concerns.The application of the mukha lepam involves first cleansing the face and then applying the herbal paste or mask. Navara Kizhi / Shashtika Pinda Swetha (Herbal Rice poultice therapy), Navara kizhi is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy that involves the application of a warm poultice filled with cooked Navara rice and herbs to the body. Navara rice is a special variety of rice that is known for its high medicinal value and is often used in Ayurvedic treatments. The poultice is made by cooking Navara rice with a decoction of herbs and then wrapping it in a cloth. The poultice is then dipped into a warm herbal oil and applied to the body, usually starting from the feet and working upwards. The therapist will then massage the poultice onto the body, applying gentle pressure to help the herbs and oil penetrate deep into the tissues. The treatment is typically done for around 60-90 minutes, with the poultice being warmed periodically to maintain its temperature.
